Setting up thunderbird on Linux with Exchange server 2010 emails, contacts and calendar

Update, New guide for thunderbird 15.01 is here http://adhocshare.blogspot.in/2012/09/setting-up-thunderbird-1501-on-linux.html

If you are one person like who likes to stick with latest and the greatest, then there is a little disappointment ahead. But I am sure that the joys at the end with overcome the sadness of running older version of thunderbird.

At this point of writing I removed version 16, just 10 mins back *sigh*

Lets see what we need and from where to get them
  1. Thunderbird 14 from ftp://archive.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/releases/14.0/
  2. Lightning 1.6 from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/lightning/versions/1.6
  3. Exchange 2007/2010 Calendar and Tasks Provider 1.8.5 from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/exchange-20072010-calendar-/
  4. ExQuilla for Microsoft Exchange 16.0 from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/exquilla-exchange-web-services/

Above is all the meat you require for the recipe. If you want more instructions let me know.

You would otherwise want to follow the guide of ExQuilla and Exchange 2007/2010 Calendar and Tasks Provider 1.8.5.

Enjoy!
